Orbi 770 Series (2-pack, Wi-Fi 7 mesh) review 2026

A dedicated backhaul band that keeps mesh speed up across a large house — at a price that only makes sense in a large house

Same room934 Mbps

Is the Orbi 770 Series Worth It?

Best for very large homes. Orbi still does tri-band mesh better than anyone, and in a big or awkward house two nodes will do what three cheaper ones cannot. At $699 it has to be solving a real coverage problem.

Orbi 770 Series Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Dedicated backhaul band meant the second node lost almost nothing — 574 Mbps at distance from two units
  • Two nodes covered what took three from most kits
  • Solid, well-built hardware with good thermal behaviour
  • 2.5 Gbps WAN port
Cons
  • $699 for two nodes
  • Netgear Armor security is a subscription after the trial
  • The app pushes upgrades constantly
