Is using a homework help site cheating?

Using it to understand a method is studying; submitting its answer as your own is not, and most colleges treat expert-answer sites as unauthorised aid. Which is best for math?

Photomath and Khan Academy for learning the steps; Chegg for textbook problem sets with worked solutions; Wyzant for a human who can see where you are stuck. In our calculus set, Chegg's solutions were the most complete and Khan Academy taught the concept best.

Are AI answers reliable?

Not on their own. The AI assistants built into Chegg, Course Hero, Quizlet and Brainly got most of our calculus and chemistry questions right and several confidently wrong; the essay feedback was generic. Treat AI answers as a starting point and check them against a worked source.

How do you test study tools?

Thirty questions — ten calculus, ten chemistry, ten essay and history — submitted to each service the same way a student would. Two teachers grade every answer blind on correctness and explanation.
