Is the Apple MacBook Pro 16" Worth It?
Best laptop for video editing — and the best laptop we have tested. The M4 Max finished our 12-minute, six-layer 4K timeline first in Final Cut, Premiere and Resolve, and by a wider margin in Final Cut where Apple's Metal path does the heavy lifting. The display is the other half of the story: on a colour-critical grade the XDR panel was the only laptop screen we would trust without an external monitor. Where it loses is price and repairability — the Dell XPS 15 gets you most of the performance for $600 less, and you can open it.
