Intelius (Monthly) review 2027
A long-established people search with clean reports and good address history; owned by the same group as Instant Checkmate
Is the Intelius Worth It?
Cleanest reports. Intelius produced the reports we would rather read, with accuracy a step below BeenVerified. It is a fair middle choice for address and phone lookups.
Intelius Pros & Cons
- Address history correct and well dated for 8 of 10
- Easiest reports to read
- Reverse phone and address lookups
- Cheaper than BeenVerified month to month
- Court records thinner than TruthFinder
- No monitoring
- Trial offers auto-convert — watch the dates
What problem does Intelius solve, and who is it for?
Intelius is a people search tool for personal use, and the job it does best is contact-finding. If you are trying to confirm a current address or a phone number for someone you already have a name for, its reports are the easiest to read of the seven background check sites we tested. The verdict from our test is blunt about the trade-off: Intelius produced the reports we would rather read, with accuracy a step below BeenVerified. It is a fair middle choice for address and phone lookups.
That framing matters because people search is not the same as verifying you have the right person. A clean report can still belong to the wrong individual if the underlying records are thin or mismatched, so the readability advantage only helps once you have a candidate match to check.

How did Intelius score across our five criteria?
Intelius finished at 7.4 out of 10, sixth of the seven sites tested. The score breaks down across five weighted criteria.
- Accuracy — 27 of 35. This measures the share of current address, phone, relatives and known records found correctly for our ten test people, plus how many false records appeared. Intelius measured 80% accuracy and produced 3 false records across those ten people.
- Coverage — 15 of 20. This covers criminal, court, property, social, email and phone data sources, along with monitoring and alerts. Intelius lists addresses, phones, emails, relatives, property and some court records, and it has no monitoring.
- Compliance & transparency — 9 of 15. This weighs FCRA status, how clearly permitted uses are stated, cancellation ease, and opt-out for the searched. Intelius is not FCRA-compliant, is stated as personal use only, and offers opt-out at suppression.peopleconnect.us.
- Usability — 8 of 10. Report clarity, search speed, app quality and upsell friction. This is where Intelius earned its strongest marks, with the easiest reports to read in the test.
- Value — 15 of 20. Monthly price for unlimited reports, or per-report price, at renewal. Intelius runs $24.86/mo for unlimited reports.
What does Intelius do better than most people search sites?
Two things stand out. First, address history was correct and well dated for 8 of 10 people in our test, which is the single most useful result for contact-finding. Second, the reports themselves are the easiest to read of the group, so you spend less time working out which record belongs to whom.
Intelius also handles reverse phone and address lookups, and it is cheaper than BeenVerified month to month. The relatives data is part of the listed coverage, which is what makes it usable for tracing family connections without a dedicated genealogy service.

What do you actually get for the money?
The spec sheet is short and worth reading before you sign up.
- Price: $24.86/mo; unlimited reports
- FCRA-compliant: No
- Permitted use: Personal use only
- Unlimited reports: Yes
- Data covered: Addresses, phones, emails, relatives, property, some court records
- Monitoring: No
- App: iOS, Android
- Opt-out for the searched: suppression.peopleconnect.us
Intelius is owned by PeopleConnect, the same group behind Instant Checkmate. Because it is not FCRA-compliant and is licensed for personal use only, it is not a substitute for an employment, tenant, credit or insurance screening product.
How does Intelius compare with the other sites we tested?
Against BeenVerified (8.0, $26.89/mo), Intelius is cheaper and easier to read, but BeenVerified was more accurate in our test and includes monitoring on saved reports. Against TruthFinder (7.7, $28.05/mo), Intelius loses on records depth — court records are thinner — while TruthFinder adds criminal and traffic records, dark-web and social sections, and monitoring. Against Spokeo (7.5, $19.95/mo), Intelius costs more but covers property and some court records in the base price, where Spokeo treats court records as an add-on.
At the professional end, Checkr (8.8, from $29.99 per report) and GoodHire (8.6, from $29.99 per report) are FCRA-compliant screening platforms built for employment, gig, volunteer and tenant checks with consent. They are per-report products with no subscription, and neither is a consumer people search.

Where does Intelius fall short?
Records depth is the main weakness. Court records are thinner than TruthFinder's, so if criminal or court history is the reason you are searching, this is not the tool for it. There is no monitoring at all, which means no alerts if a record changes after you pull a report.
The other caution is billing. Trial offers auto-convert, so watch the dates. Cancellation ease and opt-out clarity are part of why compliance and transparency scored 9 of 15 rather than higher.
Is $24.86 a month good value?
At $24.86/mo for unlimited reports, Intelius sits below BeenVerified at $26.89/mo and TruthFinder at $28.05/mo, and above Spokeo at $19.95/mo. Value scored 15 of 20, which reflects a mid-market price for unlimited reports at renewal rather than a bargain. If you only need one lookup, the per-report screening services start at $29.99, so the subscription math depends on how many searches you actually run.
Who should buy Intelius?
Intelius is still right for contact-finding. If your task is confirming an address or phone number, or pulling relatives data on a name you already have, the clean reports and well-dated address history do the job at a lower monthly price than BeenVerified.
It is the wrong pick if you need court or criminal depth, monitoring, or anything FCRA-compliant for hiring or tenancy. For those, TruthFinder covers records better and Checkr or GoodHire cover compliant screening. For personal contact lookups, Intelius is a fair middle choice.
