Is the Coursera Worth It?

Best online course platform overall. Coursera is where a course can change a CV: the Google and IBM certificates, the Stanford and Michigan course names and the degree pathways are recognised in a way nothing from Udemy or Skillshare is. Our three test courses all had graded work and projects. The price is the highest here, which the annual plan softens.

Coursera Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Google, IBM and Meta Professional Certificates are the most employer-recognised entry credentials online
  • Graded assignments, peer review and real projects in all three test courses
  • Accredited degrees from Illinois, Michigan, Imperial and others
  • Audit most courses free
Cons
  • $59 a month is the highest subscription here
  • Course quality varies between partner universities
  • Some certificates need a subscription to keep access
