PODS is a container moving service: an 8, 12 or 16 ft container is delivered to your driveway, you load it on your own schedule, and it is stored at a PODS centre for as long as you need before final delivery. That is the whole point of the service. The verdict is that PODS wins when the move has a gap in it — a sale that closes before the purchase, a renovation, a job that starts before the family follows. For a straight A-to-B move, U-Pack is faster and cheaper.

Price and quote friction are the two places it lost ground. Quotes are only by phone; ours took two calls. It is slower than U-Pack and pricier for the same move. And it is not available in four states: North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska.
