Worth it
- LiDAR mapping. Covered 98–100% of our floor in half the time of bump navigation, with room selection and no-go zones.
- Camera obstacle avoidance if you have pets or cables. The robots without it ate the cable and spread the mess.
- Self-emptying dock. Weeks between chores instead of days.
- Mop pads that lift or detach on carpet, if you have both floor types.
Not worth it
- Suction numbers above about 8,000 Pa. Our 18,500 Pa flagship recovered 94%; the 4,200 Pa Q7 Max+ 88%. Brush design mattered more.
- Voice assistants built into the robot. Your phone already has one.
- Plumbing kits for the dock, unless you already have a utility room tap next to it.
