Check last three months of usage in your phone's settings before choosing a plan. Most people are surprised.

Under 5 GB a month

You are on Wi-Fi most of the time. Mint 5 GB ($15) or Google Fi Flexible ($20 + $10/GB).

5–15 GB

Some streaming and maps. Mint 15 GB ($20), AT&T Prepaid 16 GB ($40 with stores).

15–35 GB

Daily video and hotspotting. The $25 unlimited tier — US Mobile, Visible, AT&T Prepaid annual, Boost — covers it; watch the premium-data cap.

Over 35 GB, or hotspot for work

Buy priority: Visible+, US Mobile Premium, or a postpaid plan from T-Mobile or Verizon.
