OXO Good Grips Toilet Brush with Rim-Cleaner Head (10-inch, White) review 2027

What problem does the OXO Good Grips Toilet Brush solve?

The OXO Good Grips Toilet Brush with Rim-Cleaner Head is the brush you buy when the one sitting behind your toilet has stopped doing its job. Reviewed.com named it a top performer, clearing test debris in 5 swipes thanks to angled bristles. That single result is the reason this brush exists in a category where most products are never tested at all.

The benefits follow from the design. A ventilated drip tray reduces standing water and mess, so the canister is not sitting in a puddle between cleanings. The head is replaceable, so you swap the brush head instead of replacing the whole handle. It is a toilet brush, and it is priced like a considered purchase rather than an afterthought.

How did it score 8.4 out of 10?

We scored the OXO Good Grips Toilet Brush across five criteria, each with its own maximum.

• Materials & build: 24 out of 30. This measures manufacturer-published material, construction and durability specs. The brush uses a plastic handle and nylon bristles, with a 10 in footprint.
• Functionality: 22 out of 25. This measures how well it does its specific job — grip, drainage, capacity, cleaning power. The angled bristles and ventilated tray carry most of the weight here.
• Independent review consensus: 18 out of 20. This measures genuinely confirmed praise or a rating from a named review outlet or the maker's own verified customer-rating count — never an unconfirmed aggregator claim. Reviewed.com's top-performer result is the confirmation.
• Ease of care: 12 out of 15. This measures installation, cleaning and maintenance. The replaceable head and drip tray help; the separate canister purchase holds it back.
• Value: 8 out of 10. This measures price against materials and capacity. At $34.79 it costs more than a basic brush, and the score reflects that.

What are the standout strengths?

The first is cleaning performance. Reviewed.com named it a top performer, clearing test debris in 5 swipes thanks to angled bristles. Five swipes is the concrete number, and it comes from a named outlet that ran a cleaning-debris test rather than a marketing claim.

The second is the ventilated drip tray. It reduces standing water and mess, which addresses the part of owning a toilet brush nobody enjoys — the wet canister that never fully dries.

The third is the replaceable brush head. Instead of replacing the whole handle when the bristles wear out, you replace the head. That keeps the handle and canister in service longer.

Where does it fall short?

The drawbacks are real and mostly about cost. It is pricier than a basic toilet brush, which is the main reason it lost points on value. Replacement heads are a separate purchase, so the lower ongoing cost of a replaceable head only pays off if you actually buy the heads. And the canister is sold separately from some bundles, so check what is in the box before ordering.

Where it lost, in short: price versus basic brushes. Nothing about the cleaning result or the tray design was the problem.

Is $34.79 good value?

The price summary is $34.79. On the value criterion it scored 8 out of 10, which measures price against materials and capacity. The materials are a plastic handle and nylon bristles, and the brush is 10 in. You are paying above the basic-brush floor for the tested cleaning result, the ventilated tray and the replaceable head — and the score treats that as a fair trade rather than a bargain.

Who should buy the OXO Good Grips Toilet Brush?

It is still right for anyone replacing a worn-out toilet brush. If your current brush has splayed bristles, a cracked handle or a canister that holds water, this is the direct replacement, and the replaceable-head design means the next replacement is a head rather than a whole brush.

If you want the cheapest brush that will do, this is not it — the price versus basic brushes is the documented trade-off. If you want the brush Reviewed.com named a top performer, clearing test debris in 5 swipes, with a ventilated drip tray and a replaceable head, this is the one.
